Globalization and China influence in Pakistan

Globalization and China's influence on Pakistan

GLOBALIZATION is a process that makes the world a global village. It makes the state borders transparent and people are interconnected with each other through different sources like the T.V INTERNET communication process etc. Globalization makes life easy and very beneficial for economic development but on the other side, it has huge impacts on language education health technology, and the culture of the state. Culture is the tradition and beliefs of one nation or state. And Culture varies from one state to another state. Pakistan is a MUSLIM state and before 194 it was a part of the INDIAN subcontinent and many powers ruled it like Turkish Arabs Hindus and British that’s why Pakistan has a mixed culture but based on Islam previously.  But after the 1990s era, Pakistan adopts westernization, and English movies songs brands like McDonald Nike Samsung subway Mac become a part of life and English become the main source of communication, and western dresses are becoming the tradition of the elite class and middle class also in the race to adopt this westernization trend. But today world there is also another culture that emerges in Pakistan and that is Chinese. CHINA is a very good friend of PAKISTAN their friendship describes as   'deeper than the deepest ocean,' 'sweeter than honey' - it reflects the unusual nature of a secretive relationship that is the only real friendship. In Pakistan, Chinese food all-time favorite of people like noodles and Chines rice, etc. But in today's world Chines language roots also become stronger in Pakistan. For learning the Chinese language, Premier Li Keqiang also made the promise to send 1000 teachers to Pakistan to teach the Chinese language in 2013, and today there are abundant Chinese teachers in Pakistan.

China is an emerging power it has had a huge impact on the Pakistani economy and now it has expanded its impact on Pakistani culture the main reason behind this is the friendship between CHINA and PAKISTAN and the other reason is CPEC. CPEC not only helps in increasing the economy of both countries but because of the good relation and cheaper work rate, China introduces different job arrangements for the Pakistani public in China. Chinese have made phenomenal progress in the past few years. Hence, they stand as the finest example for us. Many Pakistani in previous time learn English and wanted to go to London, New York, or Canada for jobs and higher studies but now the trend day by day changing Pakistani people learn the Chinese language and prepare themselves for a job opportunities and future study in China. Not only do Pakistani people go to China for a job and study but also many Chines come to Pakistan and they work in Pakistan.  There were estimated to be 10,000 Chinese people living and working in Pakistan as of 2009. As of 2015, there were 8,112 Chinese workers in Pakistan. A further 7,000 Chinese professionals involved in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor are expected to join the existing nationals, raising the total population to 15,000. According to a staff member at a Chinese-language newspaper in Pakistan, 400,000 Chinese people live in Pakistan. There are also Chinese community organizations increasing in several Pakistani cities like Gilgit Islamabad Lahore Karachi etc. And the recent Pakistani marriages to Chines people are more affected by the Pakistani culture because Muslims married non-Muslims and the tradition of Pakistani culture changed because the next generation in Pakistani is mixed half Pakistani and half Chinese. China is getting stronger day by day. The ‘Shan masala’ advert showing a Chinese woman in Pakistani clothes bringing Biryani to a Pakistani home went viral and Pakistani people liked it. China also is a threat to the local markets and manufacturers of Pakistan because the Chinese market growing in Pakistan day by day and the value of the Pakistani local market is decreasing. The cooperation between China and Pakistan is great from an Economic and political Perspective but from a cultural perspective, it is a drawback for Pakistani society and interestingly people and the government of Pakistan adopted Chines culture happily and without thinking rationally and logically. Many analysts in Pakistan also express their views on this globalization process the famous Asim Sajjad Akhtar, a political analyst, and columnist concurs: "Our society has been greatly influenced by English culture. Now it will be influenced by Chinese culture and civilization. Jan goes on to say that Pakistan has sold out to China for $46 billion. "I think Chinese aid is not for free. Pakistan's economy is not that big, so Beijing will now take over most of our income-generating sectors." Some Pakistani experts even see a Chinese "cultural colonization" of the country. A few years ago Pakistan has concerned with the MIDDLE EASTERN MUSLIM WORLD but today Pakistan has more concerned with China because Pakistan knows that see that China is another Super Power in the world within 10 years which helps Pakistan for Economic development and also counter INDIA in South Asia.

As a Pakistani nation or society, it is our responsibility to protect the culture of a nation and only adopt those things which are rational and beneficial for the state and public both because Culture is an identity of a Nation and when a nation lost its own culture its means it’s lost its identity. So it is a time when the Pakistani nation is seriously concerned about this issue.
