Reasons for the Syrian War (Part 2)

       Reasons for the Syrian War

The Syrian War started in March 2011, under the Presidency of Bashar al Assad, the son of Hafeez al Assad who was belonged to Baath Party of Syria and since 1970, Baath Party has ruled of the country. The Syrian war started as a Civil war that's why many people labeled as a Civil War but it fought as an international war because the international player is involved in it. The War has many players and many perspectives. The War also labeled as the 2nd Cold war between old Rivals America and Russia in the new Region, Middle East and also involved new players in it like Iran and Saudi Arabia on it. Simply, we can say that the Syrian War fought with the Cold war legacy with new players and new style. There are so many reasons behind the war, but it is true that the nature of war was civil. There were so many Civil and national reasons which lead the Syrian conflict into the Civil war and then International War.

 1. Economic Downfall:

Under the presidency of Bashar, Syria faced the Economic downfall. The employment rate was falling day by day. 80 percent of the Syria population is educated. The education system of Syria was very strong before the war but there was no progress in employment. People didn't have jobs to fulfill their needs that's why they were starting the protest against the government.

2. Military Control:

The Syrian is a hub of ethnicity Hafeez and Bashar both tried to give the equal representation of all groups of Syria but Alwite has control over the Military. Hafeez and Bashar also belong to Alwite sect and on military Alwite ruled that is one the reason that the Syrian army strongly favoring the Bashar.

3. International Isolation:

The international isolation of Syria also became a cause of war. Assad support to Iran and Hezbollah against the USA and Israel became the subject of international isolation which directly affect the economic growth of Syria which was already in downfall.

4. Affiliation with Shia Community:

Bashar also developed close ties with the Shia group. About Shia-Sunni rivalry everyone knows, and the amalgamation with minority and ignore the majority in the ethnic populated state always generate problems and exactly that happen in the Syrian nation.

5. Drought 2007-10:

2007-10 was an era in which Syrian rural areas faced serious drought and Assad mismanagement of agriculture, privatization policy and corruption making the country condition worst.

6. Arab Spring:

Among the main reasons for the Syrian war, the Arab Spring was the main one. If the government take right measures on time then the rising of Arab Spring will be stopped at the right time. But the attitude of Bashar towards Arab Spring and his thinking that the Arab Spring didn’t affect Syria escalate the tensions in Syria and at last war broke out.
